John,
Thank you for a great post. Perhaps Delta was inspired by Steve Jobs?

I applaud your sage advice.

This is the most compelling data I have seen. It is an eye opener and should strongly influence companies to get their CX programs either started or accelerated.

You're right, Deepa. It's rarely ever about "just one thing" and those companies that are looking for that silver bullet will likely be disappointed. But if you embrace a discipline of continuously spotting the gaps (big or small), and then take prompt action to address them -- that's when you really start to move the needle!

Hi Jon,

Nice post!

Poor Customer Experience is never about fixing `just one thing' is it? The post is almost like a Customer Experience Gap Analysis Tool. Makes me want to set it to music and use it for subliminal messaging - for all those clients who think superficial tinkering with brand & product can solve everything :)

Catchy, Jon...and totally on point. In their zeal to improve the bottom line, many companies have forgotten the top of the line -- the customer!

Jon - we see who the real writer is in the family! What a smart and novel twist on a classic; a great way to drive home the power of client service. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Well done Jon! Service along with a simple Please and Thank You are the lost art. I have a draft of an article which I'll send you after the holidays regarding that topic.

Hope you and your family have a very happy Holiday season.

It pleases me greatly to know that as a security professional I had a positive long-lasting effect on you. You are of course right to feel wronged for having been asked to give up your password, and I'm glad you changed it afterwards. And yes, the technicians certainly have an alternative to using your password. They are either lazy or poorly trained. Nice blog.
